Clavadistas del Sol (CdS) is concerned with guiding and directing divers toward maximum use of their individual talents and abilities, believing that "being the best they can be" in diving will prove valuable in their lives as they grow and develop.
The diving program strives to implant in its athletes an understanding and appreciation of such concepts as high self esteem, personal accountability, self motivation, mental toughness, physical fitness, goal setting, respect for others, team spirit and loyalty. We believe that recognition of these concepts is as significant as the athletic achievement itself.
CdS is a nonprofit, year-round diving program for amateur athletes who have the ability to participate in the programs of United States Diving. Membership is open to all. Education and training of divers for local, regional, national, and international competition is an important aspect of this program.
Developmental diving, is also a meaningful part of the program. A child may start on the CdS Bronze team and transfer to competitive diving at his/her desire or pace. It is hoped that this progression will lead some of our divers to college athletic scholarships in the sport, and possibly have them return to the team as coaches themselves or to participate in our masters diving program.
CdS Dive Team is a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tax deductible contributions to the organization's general fund are always appreciated, and go to promote and support the sport of diving.
